Lawyer and Certified Public Accountant from Universidad de Medellín, specialist in Industrial Property, Copyrights and New Technologies from Universidad Externado de Colombia (Bogotá) and specialist in Finance from Universidad EAFIT (Medellín); with undergraduate studies in Consumer Law and a perfecting Competition Law course from Universidad Externado de Colombia (Bogotá); and course of Intellectual property management; recognized for consecutive years since 2014 by Chambers Latin America as one of the best Intellectual Property lawyers in Colombia.

Memberships

As an active partner of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and Asociación Interamericana de la Propiedad Intelectual (ASIPI), she participates in different international congresses performed by the previous organizations. In addition, she assists to several Professional Trainings in all the Country related to IP in a permanent way.

Experience

For more than 22 years she has been dedicated to the direction and management of all processes involving Intellectual Property in Colombia as well as abroad; recognized in the city of Medellin due to her consulting and management of important brand portfolios such as the ones from the different companies of Grupo Orbis (Pintuco S.A., Cacharrería Mundial SAS, Andercol S.A., O-Tek International S.A.), C.I. Arclad S.A., Groupe Seb Colombia S.A. (before Imusa), Tiendas de Ropa Intima S.A. (before TANIA), Productora de Moda S.A., Bancolombia S.A. (2.002-2.010) and Cementos Argos S.A. (2.003-2.010) among others; Director of ASEMARCAS TOTALBRAND during 8 years (1995-2003) and the Gómez Pinzón Asemarcas Medellin office during 7 years (2003-2010); with experience as professor of the module called: ``BRAND AND ITS PROTECTION`` for the Diploma course in Direction and Management of Brand at EAFIT University, from 2004 to 2014. She has leaded the IP Law Firm Consuelo Benjumea & Asociados as founder partner, since 2010 to present.

Mechanical Engineer from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with studies in ``Project Management according to the PMI methodology`` at Medellin University; he has been a consultant for machinery plans drawing, layout or arrangement of production plants, and analysis of materials’ strength, which allow him to have a global vision about the processes, innovation and development of new products, knowledge that enables him to provide an accurate consultancy on issues related to patents. He has been part of multiple workshops and seminars related to Innovation and Industrial property held by Word Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce of Colombia and Ruta-n.

With three years’ experience in IP matters, specifically in the patents field in the Consuelo Benjumea Law Firm since 2015.

Attorney at law graduated from University of Medellin, specialized in Insurance law from Pontificia Javeriana University Medellín extension, Diploma course in Contractual, professional, insurance and civil liability from University of Medellin, Diploma course in general insurance from Politécnico Gran Colombiano, course of systematic study of the General Process Code from University of Antioquia.

Experience

With experience in corporate counseling related to commercial al judicial litigation under leadership criteria for prevention, handling, dispute resolution, and risk and insurance analysis. With abilities to provide counsel regarding contractual matters, answering labor, civil and administrative demands, tutelas. Hearings support. Preparation and following to Legal processes.

With three years’ experience in corporate counseling related to intellectual property, private law, commercial law and consumer law at the Law Firm GSAB Abogados S.A.S. With abilities to provide advice in contractual issues, contract preparation and law concepts preparation. She has been conference speaker and law event organizer. She has participated in many research groups in family matters with important publications in this sense.

Attorney at law graduated from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), she is currently studying a specialization in Commercial Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia.

With two years’ experience in mining and environmental matters. Since 2014, she has been a Director of nonprofit organization Fundación Entretodos.
