Cada vez mas artistas registran su nombre como marca
Cada día, más deportistas, artistas, grupos musicales y otras figuras reconocidas, registran su nombre o seudónimos como marca ante la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio con el fin de proteger su propiedad intelectual.
Hasta ahora, se pueden encontrar registrados los nombres de personalidades como Shakira, Carlos Vives, Juanes, Monsieur Periné, Farina, Bombas Estéreo, Chocquibtown, Pipe Bueno, Jorge Celedón, Maluma, Andres Cepeda, entre otros. Una de las últimas adiciones a esta lista es el cantante Manuel Alejandro Medráno, quien solicito el registro de la marca “MANUEL MEDRANO” y a quien le fue concedida por la Superintendencia el pasado 17 de octubre de 2017.
De esta forma la marca solicitada por estos personajes cuenta con una protección por 10 años renovables, contados a partir del momento de su concesión, de forma que los artistas que registran su nombre como marca protegen no solo su nombre propio sino sus seudónimos, por los que son ampliamente reconocidos, de forma que terceros no puedan hacer uso de ellos aprovechándose de su imagen y reconocimiento.
