Apple vs qualcomm disputa millonaria de patentes
Qualcomm una de las compañías más grandes de semiconductores en el mundo y Apple la compañía productora de Smartphones más grande del mundo de acuerdo a sus ingresos, han mantenido una millonaria serie de disputas legales a lo largo de los años debido a la infracción de patentes.
A la fecha el portafolio de Qualcomm está compuesto aproximadamente por 130.000 patentes, dentro de las cuales se encuentra la tecnología clave que permite a los teléfonos inteligentes enviar y recibir datos, lo que obliga a los productores de smartphones a pagar millonarias licencias a la compañía desarrolladora de chips anualmente.
Esto ha sido llamado por los productores de teléfonos como el impuesto Qualcomm. En años anteriores gobiernos como el de China y Corea del Sur han impuesto multas a la empresa de chips por infracción de normas antimonopolio.
Por otro lado, recientes decisiones de Apple con relación al pago de las licencias de patentes han abierto un nuevo capítulo en la disputa que al parecer tomará varios años en ser resuelta.
